Friedrich Reutner

Friedrich Reutner (born May 14, 1937 in Dinslaken , Germany ) is a German economist who is particularly concerned with corporate management.

Life

Friedrich Reutner, born in Dinslaken in 1937 , studied in Munich and Cologne a . a. as a student of Gutenberg and Müller-Armack business administration. From May 1, 1965, he took over the management of the market research department at Herbol-Werken AG. After two years of working as a research assistant at the University of Cologne and a freelance marketing employee at Herbol-Werke, he received his doctorate on June 19, 1968 with distinction. After completing his doctorate on a chemical-analytical topic, he first worked in sales, then as a member of the management of the Herbol-Werke ( BASF group), from 1971 as an authorized signatory of the Kurt Herberts company ( Hoechst group), Wuppertal and from 1973 as Sales director of this company. In addition, he was sales director of Standox GmbH from 1974 and member of the board of directors of Herberts-Belgium, Brussels, from 1975.

In 1976 he became sales director of the traditional sole proprietorship Friedrichsfeld GmbH in Mannheim (today FRIATEC AG), from 1979 managing director for sales and technology, from 1983 sole managing director or sole director. Reutner led the former stoneware company out of an existence-threatening crisis with new products and sectors. After the renovation, the company still employed 800 people. The company, which has since been renamed FRIATEC AG, has up to 2500 employees worldwide in 6 divisions and 42 companies as well as 13 contact offices. After selling the majority of shares several times, the new shareholders withdrew divisions and subsidiaries from FRIATEC AG.

  • President and later honorary president of the Kunststoffrohr-Verband eV, Bonn
  • First Vice President of the Rhine-Neckar Chamber of Commerce and Industry until the end of 2001; since then honorary member of the executive committee
  • Member of the board of the action group social market economy

Teaching

From 1989 to 2002 Professor Reutner read lectures on the subject of "Strategic Corporate Policy" at the Technical University of Darmstadt .

Friedrich Reutner Prize

The Friedrich Reutner Prize, donated by Reutner, has been awarded to young female scientists at the Medical Faculty of Heidelberg for significant, independent work since 2011.
