Friedrich Stephan (politician, 1915)

Friedrich Stephan (* 24. November 1915 in Freistett ; † 14. May 1997 in Offenburg ) was a German politician of the SPD .

Life

After attending primary school, Stephan completed an apprenticeship as a locksmith and then worked in the building locksmith trade. From 1934 to 1939 he did Reich Labor Service and from 1939 to 1945 he took part in the Second World War as a soldier , most recently as a lieutenant in the reserve.

Stephan worked again as a locksmith after the end of the war. He joined the SPD and worked as secretary for the SPD South Baden since 1947 . In addition, he was a member of the municipal council and mayor of the municipality of Freistett and a member of the district council of the Kehl district . In 1947 he was elected to the Baden state parliament, to which he belonged until its dissolution in 1952. From 1952 to 1976 he was a member of the Baden-Württemberg state parliament .
