Friedrich Ulmer (actor)

Friedrich Ulmer (born March 27, 1877 in Munich , † April 26, 1952 in Traunstein ) was a German actor and writer.

Life

Ulmer first appeared on the stage of the Residenztheater in Munich at the age of 18 . Although he was originally a lawyer and practiced as a lawyer , he soon quit to pursue acting. Before the First World War he was employed at the Münchner Hof-Theater, but his artistic rise did not begin until after the war.

In 1921 he made a brief guest appearance at the Lessing Theater in Berlin , but returned on the occasion of the Festival at the Art Theater in Munich, where he got several roles, such as those of Florian Geyer and Petrucchio , and was appointed director there. As a result, he was appointed professor of dramaturgy and direction at the University of Munich by the Bavarian Ministry of Culture in 1929 . In 1933 he was forced by the National Socialists to leave the Munich theater business and did not return to Berlin until 1935, i.e. only after almost 15 years, apart from a brief guest appearance in Munich. After a few years he returned to Munich, but could no longer gain a foothold.

From 1920 to the 1940s, he was seen in a number of films as an actor, he also excelled as a writer.
