Friedrich Welskop (born October 14, 1898 in Eickel or in Wanne , † October 20, 1977 in Castrop-Rauxel ) was a German lawyer and politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending secondary school and graduating from high school in 1917, Welskop began studying law, political science and economics at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . In 1918 he took part in the First World War as a soldier . He continued his studies in 1919 at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster on, he with two state examination and in 1921 with the graduation to the Dr. jur. finished in casting . From 1924 he worked as a lawyer and notary in Castrop-Rauxel. Here he acted as CEO of Volksbank eGmbH from 1927 . In 1944/45 he took part in the Second World War as a soldier , from which he returned home seriously injured. He later headed the local bar association in Castrop-Rauxel. Furthermore, since 1953 he was a board member of the Bar Association in the district of the Higher Regional Court of Hamm .

Welskop joined the CDU in 1946 and has been chairman of the CDU district association Castrop-Rauxel since 1952.

Welskop was a city ​​councilor in Castrop-Rauxel from 1928 to 1933 , and has been a council member and chairman of the CDU parliamentary group here since 1952. He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1953 to 1957. In parliament he represented the constituency of Herne - Castrop-Rauxel .
