Friedrich Wilhelm Lyra
Friedrich Wilhelm Lyra (born June 17, 1794 in Achelriede near Osnabrück , † November 16, 1848 in Osnabrück) was a German administrative officer and author.
Friedrich Wilhelm Lyra was a son of the pastor of Achelriede. He took part in the battle of Waterloo as the youngest officer in his company . In 1844 he was dismissed from civil service due to unreliability. He became known for his collection of folklore material.
The pastor and composer Justus Wilhelm Lyra was his son.
