Friedrich Wilhelm Nikolaus Anton von Boeselager (born December 3, 1713 , † June 14, 1782 ) was provost of the cathedral in the prince-bishopric of Münster .

Life

Origin and family

As the son of Baron Franz Heinrich Anton von Boeselager zu Eggermühlen († 1720) and Julina Helena Christina von Ketteler von Harkotten († 1760), Friedrich Wilhelm came from an ancient Westphalian aristocratic family . His sister Margaretha Agnes (Maria) was the capitular in Nottuln Abbey . One of his two brothers was a canon in Münster.

Career and work

Friedrich Wilhelm was sworn up on July 15, 1732 in Münster under the allocation of a cathedral canonical . As archdeacon in Winterswijk, he also owned the obedience in Buldern. In 1753 he became provost in Beckum . In the bishopric election in 1761 his candidacy had good prospects, but the choice fell on the Archbishop of Cologne, Maximilian Friedrich von Königsegg-Rothenfels . He was appointed Provost of the Cathedral on August 13, 1764 and the following year he was appointed President of the Privy Council . In addition to the spiritual offices, he also performed duties as a deputy at the Landespfennigkammer .
