The Schagerl Music GmbH (proper spelling SCHAGERL Music GmbH , also music Schagerl ) is an Austrian manufacturer of brass instruments based in Mank - Hörsdorf .

history

In 1961, Karl Schagerl sen. his company for the construction of brass instruments. In 1989 the founder's son, Karl Schagerl jun., Took over the company. The move to more spacious premises followed in 2000.

Since 2008 the "Schagerl Brass Festival" has been held every three years in Melk Abbey .

Companies

In the company, instruments are not only built, but also further developed and improved. The conception of so-called "master instruments" happens in close cooperation with professional instrumentalists such as Hans Gansch , Garbor Tarkövi , the musicians from Mnozil Brass or James Morrison . Schagerl produces trumpets , cornets , flugelhorns , trombones , saxophones and flutes . Around 700 instruments are built annually.

Other brass instruments are manufactured under the Venus brand: in addition to the above instruments, horns , alto horns , tenor horns , baritones , euphonies and tubas .

Since 2010, high-quality drums have been built under the Schagerl Drums brand - founded by Markus Lechner and Robert Schagerl. After two years of development and the move to nearby Ruprechtshofen , the first snare drum was completed in 2012 . Here, too, the instruments are created in collaboration with well-known musicians, such as Thomas Lang or the Edition Berliner Philharmoniker 2014 with the drummer Jan Schlichte .
