Hans Gansch

Hans Gansch (born April 13, 1953 in Kirnberg an der Mank , Lower Austria ) is an Austrian trumpeter .

Life

He received his first music lessons at the age of seven from his father Johann Gansch on the recorder and the snare drum. From the age of eleven, his father taught him the trumpet, as did his brother Thomas Gansch . He completed his music studies with Franz Veigl at the Anton Bruckner University in Linz . From 1974 to 1976 he held the position of first trumpeter in the Bruckner Orchester Linz , from 1976 to 1982 the same in the symphony orchestra of the Austrian radio. During this time he made a guest appearance with the ORF Big Band as fifth trumpeter together with Art Farmer . From 1982 to 1996 he was first trumpeter in the orchestra of the Vienna State Opera and with the Vienna Philharmonic . In 1996 he received the professorship for trumpet at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg. He founded the brass ensemble Austrian Brass Connection (ABC), and Gansch also works in other ensembles such as Art Of Brass Vienna , Pro Brass and the Upper Austria Brass Band .
