Johann Gansch

Johann Gansch (born August 30, 1925 in Kirnberg an der Mank , Lower Austria ; † March 4, 1998 in Melk ) was an Austrian composer . He is one of the most important Austrian composers and educators for brass music in the second half of the 20th century.

Life

Johann Gansch was born the son of a regimental musician. He received his first musical training in 1933 from his father. In 1949 Johann Gansch became Kapellmeister in Kirnberg, where he founded a youth band and taught as a teacher. In 1972 he subsequently founded the Melk town band, which he directed until 1988. He is the father of two sons, Hans Gansch and Thomas Gansch , who are both trumpeters and three daughters, who have all learned to play an instrument.

  • Pioneer needles in silver and gold from the command of the Army Pioneer Battalion Melk
