Friedrich von Basedow

Friedrich von Basedow (born September 18, 1797 in Dessau ; † March 4, 1864 there ) was a German lawyer and politician .

Life

Von Basedow studied law in Halle and Jena . In 1814 he was a volunteer in a student hunter corps and in 1816 became a member of the Corps Teutonia Halle fraternity and in 1817 a member of the original fraternity . In 1818 he was promoted to Dr. iur. PhD . He later became Minister of State in Dessau, Councilor of the Ducal Chamber of Anhalt-Dessau and Tax Director of the Ducal Tax Directorate and Director of the Landesrentenbank. Under Minister von Plötz, he became Vice President in 1849 , and his successor as President of the Government in 1862. In 1863 he retired.

His father was the district president Ludwig von Basedow , his grandfather Johann Bernhard Basedow . His brother was Carl von Basedow .
