Friedrich von Erdmannsdorff

Friedrich August von Erdmannsdorff (born May 15, 1772 on Gut Strauch near Grossenhain , Kursachsen ; † May 26, 1827 in Liegnitz ) was a Prussian administrative lawyer.

Friedrich August von Erdmannsdorff was a son from the marriage of the Saxon chamberlain Carl Friedrich von Erdmannsdorff and Erdmuthe Madalena von der Sahla.

Career

Erdmannsdorf studied law in Wittenberg from October 1790 and took his legal exam there after two and a half years. He then did cameralistic studies at the University of Jena . After graduation, I worked for a year at a local justice office. Erdmannsdorff was able to move to Berlin through contacts between his family and Minister von Heynitz . From January 29, 1795 he was employed there as an assistant in the expedition of the Westphalian provincial department. On August 20, 1796, he passed the Rigorosum, which qualified him as suitable to hold a council office. With effect from April 3, 1797 Erdmannsdorff was promoted to chamber assessor in Hamm. In the summer of the same year he went on a trip through Westphalia with Minister von Heynitz. On March 24, 1799 he was appointed Chamber and Domain Councilor in Hamm.

Erdmannsdorff took over the important post of Landtag commissioner for the county of Mark in the War and Domain Chamber in Hamm . Together with von Rappard, who was responsible for the Klevian areas, he organized the state parliaments for Kleve-Mark in 1805 and 1806.

After the Peace of Tilsit and in the course of the Prussian reforms, he moved to Glogau in 1809 as President of the Government . Because of the French occupation of the Glogau fortress, his authority was soon transferred to Liegnitz . From 1816 to 1822 he was chief president in Kleve . After the dissolution of this authority, he returned to Silesia as district president (1823-1827).
