content
Bart and Lisa go fishing in a lake near the nuclear power plant. A reporter named Dave Shutton walks up to them and sees Bart caught a three-eyed fish. Dave Shutton writes an article about it in the newspaper, so that the fish is known everywhere. A committee in Washington learns this and sends a team to examine the nuclear power plant more closely. The team found 324 violations in the power plant. If Mr. Burns, the owner of the power plant, does not fix all of these errors, the power plant will be closed. Because Mr. Burns can't afford it, he speaks to Homer, the power plant employee, who is also the father of Bart and Lisa. Homer suggests that Mr. Burns become governor and change the rules. Burns makes a commercial in which he discusses Blinky, the three-eyed fish, with an actor dressed as Charles Darwin . The actor says the fish is a miracle of nature and not a mutated being. Mr. Burns promises to cut taxes and starts a smear campaign against current Governor Mary Bailey. In order to increase Mr. Burns' popularity, his advisors suggest that he dine with an ordinary family. Burns chooses Homer Simpson's family. While Homer supports Mr. Burns, his wife Marge is a Mary Bailey devotee. Marge has an idea and decides to serve Blinky for dinner. When Mr. Burns has trouble getting the fish in his mouth, he spits it out again. The reporters film and take photos of the process. Burns' polls drop so much that Mary Bailey wins the election.
