Fritz & Macziol (spelling FRITZ & MACZIOL) was a German IT service provider and software provider with its headquarters in Ulm . The company employed over 1000 people worldwide. history

Fritz & Macziol Software und Computervertrieb GmbH was founded in 1987 in Ulm by Heribert Fritz and Eberhard Macziol. In the same year Fritz & Macziol entered into a partnership with IBM . Own software products have been developed over the years. At the same time, the sister company Infoma Software Consulting GmbH (own spelling INFOMA) was founded, which initially focused on the business of medium to large computers, but later on administrations and companies in the public sector.

The year 2001 began with the establishment of the first branches and the development in the area, which was later followed by internationalization. At the same time, the headquarters in Ulm were expanded and the first in-house data center was set up. On average, sales grew by 31 percent per year in the first 20 years, and the number of employees by around 21 percent.

In 2014, the Swiss branch of Fritz & Macziol - Fritz & Macziol (Schweiz) AG - hit the headlines when it became known that an employee of the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) had given her gifts (including VIP football tickets for 60,000 Francs ) and in return awarded her government contracts without a correct tender . In the same year, the number of jobs in the branch was reduced from 45 to 20. In 2012 it still had 60 employees. In addition, the group was sold to the French Vinci Group as part of the sale of the entire ICT division from Imtech .

As part of the takeover by VINCI, Fritz & Macziol Software und Computervertrieb GmbH, Infoma GmbH and Information Technology & Trust AG were integrated into the VINCI Energies division under the Axians ICT brand. In 2016, the companies were renamed Axians IT Solutions GmbH , Axians Infoma GmbH and Axians IT&T AG.

Company structure

The Fritz & Macziol Group included the companies Fritz & Macziol Software & Computervertrieb GmbH, FRITZ & MACZIOL Asia, Inc., Infoma Software Consulting GmbH and the subsidiary Information Technology & Trust AG (IT&T). The group itself belonged to the French Vinci concern.
