Fritz Fanta

Fritz Fanta (born September 2, 1906 in Reichenberg , † October 16, 1988 in Linz ) was an Austrian architect .

Life

Fritz Fanta studied architecture at the German Technical University in Brno from 1924 to 1931 , among others with his father Heinrich Fanta . From 1930 to 1938 he was a research assistant in Brno and was awarded a doctorate in 1936 . PhD. At the same time he worked as an architect for his father.

In 1938 he became head of the design office in the municipal building department of Linz . He became a soldier in 1943 and was seriously wounded in 1944 with the loss of his right arm. In 1945 he resumed his work in Linz. In 1971 he retired.

Fanta is essentially connected to the reconstruction of Linz. In 1958 he was appointed professor. From 1960 to 1963 he was President of the Artists' Association MAERZ and from 1960 to 1966 Vice President of the Central Association of Architects of Upper Austria . From 1969 Fanta was a member of the State Examination Commission at the Technical University of Vienna .
