Fritz Heidenreich

Fritz Heidenreich (born May 4, 1895 in Mering , district of Aichach-Friedberg ; † January 5, 1966 in Selb , district of Wunsiedel ) was a German porcelain maker and primarily occupied himself with small sculptures and as a ceramist .

Fritz Heidenreich was the son of the potter Johann Heidenreich in Auerbach in the Upper Palatinate and his wife Cäcilie geb. Ludwig in Mering near Friedberg. In 1897 the Johann Heidenreich family moved back to Auerbach and lived there in "Staffelhafnerhaus" No. 152, where Fritz also grew up.

Heidenreich worked for the porcelain manufacturer Rosenthal from 1919 to 1960 and was known for his depictions of forest animals and birds. From 1946 he was manager of the art department of Rosenthal in Selb. In 1937 he won the Grand Prix for his fish group Scalare at the World Exhibition in Paris . The orchid vase is still produced today according to his design.
