Fritz Hohenberg

Fritz Hohenberg (born January 4, 1907 in Graz ; † December 16, 1987 ibid) was an Austrian mathematician .

Life

Fritz Hohenberg studied mathematics and physics at the University of Vienna from 1930 to 1933 and descriptive geometry at the Technical University of Vienna . In 1933 he received his doctorate at the University of Vienna under Hans Hahn and Philipp Furtwängler on the subject of circles and bicircular curves of the 4th order in non-Euclidean geometry . In 1944 he completed his habilitation at the Technical University of Vienna. However, due to the turmoil after the war, he was not granted the license to teach until 1946. In 1947 he was offered a position at the Graz University of Technology , where he headed the chair for descriptive geometry until his retirement in 1971.
