Fritz Holzer

Fritz Holzer (born March 22, 1929 in Vienna ; † October 17, 2000 there ) was an Austrian actor .

After secondary school he attended the Max Reinhardt Seminar and was engaged by the Theater der Courage in Vienna in 1953. Further stations in his hometown were the Theater am Parkring, Ateliertheater, Tribüne, Volkstheater , Volksoper , Theater in der Josefstadt , Burgtheater and the Operettenhaus in Hamburg.

From 1966 to 1968 he was engaged at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg and at the Salzburg Festival . Since 1969 he has performed at various theaters with piece contracts . As the village clerk Azdak in The Caucasian Chalk Circle and Rappelkopf in The Alpine King and the Misanthrope he was seen at the United Theaters in Graz and the Volkstheater in Vienna. At the Salzburg State Theater he played Pfriem in Nestroy's fear of hell and Puntila in Mr. Puntila and his servant Matti . He acted as the miser in Graz and in the role of debt servant at the Salzburg Festival.

Holzer acted in two feature films and in several television productions. For his acting performance in 1986/87 he received the Karl Skraup Prize . He was the father of two children.
