Fritz Kirchhof (born December 19, 1927 in Reichenberg , Czechoslovakia , † April 9, 1997 ) was an official in the GDR . In 1962 he was chairman of the committee for tourism and hiking in the GDR and from 1962 to 1967 secretary of the central council of the Free German Youth .

Political work

Fritz Kirchhof was a salesman by profession. At the same time as Kirchhof were active in the Central Council of the FDJ: Egon Krenz , Werner Lamberz , Helmut Müller, Konrad Naumann , Brigitte Römer (née Blümke), Hans Schmidt, Wolfgang Steinke, Wolfgang Herger and Karl Thomasius.

In 1964, together with Erich Rau and Helmut Müller, he played a key role in the preparation of the German Youth Meeting in Berlin. He was also involved in the 2nd Bitterfeld Conference in the Kulturpalast Bitterfeld on April 24th and 25th, 1964 . The theme of the conference was given by Walter Ulbricht's introductory lecture on the development of a socialist national culture linked to the people . On June 16, 1964 he was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in bronze. In the autumn of 1964 Kirchhof appeared at a district leadership meeting in Gera, which prompted the central council of the FDJ to comment.

On July 15, 1965, Kirchhof sent a statement from the Central Council of the FDJ on the film Don't think about it , I'm crying at Erich Mückenberger .

On July 10, 1968, the Central Committee of the SED decided on its further use. On April 30, 1975, as a pensioner in Berlin, he received the VVO in silver.
