Fritz Leitner

Fritz Leitner (born January 14, 1946 in St. Pölten , Lower Austria ; † December 17, 1991 in Steinfeld , Carinthia ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ).

Life

Fritz Leitner, who was born in Radlberg , at that time an independent district of St. Pölten, grew up in Carinthia. After attending compulsory schools, he attended the Litzlhof agricultural college in Lendorf . After successfully passing the skilled worker examination to become a farmer , Leitner took over his parents' farm in 1970.

His career as a politician began in 1971 when he became a member of the Chamber of Agriculture , where he was a delegate of the Spittal an der Drau district until 1976 . From 1973 he sat for the SPÖ in the municipal council of the market town of Steinfeld . In 1976 he was honored with the title of Chamber Councilor . He was most recently elected Vice President of the Carinthian Chamber of Agriculture in 1981.

From 1983 to 1984 he sat briefly as a member of his party in the Carinthian state parliament before he was sworn in as a member of the Federal Council in Vienna in October 1984 . Leitner was a member of the second Austrian parliamentary chamber until October 1986.
