Fritz Meisel

Hugo Otto Fritz Meisel (born July 18, 1897 in Weimar ; † March 15, 1960 in Hamburg ) was a German painter, draftsman and graphic artist.

As a student of Professor Walther Klemm , Meisel studied at the Staatliches Bauhaus in Weimar and then worked as a draftsman for the film companies UFA , Tobis and Terra as well as for the newspapers BZ am Mittag and Hamburger Abendblatt . In his role as a press illustrator, he was one of the most important of his guild after 1945.
