geography
The Wüstenbach rises under the name Rohrbach in a forest area in the north-eastern municipality of Aspach , about 600 m south of the Amalienhöhe, at about 470 m above sea level. NHN in the so-called pipe blade . It flows first to the west and takes in some other spring branches. Then it turns to the southwest and steps out of the forest into the field, flows right past the hamlet of Steinhausen and then takes on the Mauswiesenbach from the right . He feeds some fish ponds, passes the hamlet of Einöd on his right bank, after which the Gräbenbach flows in a little below to the right and he turns to the southeast. He passes the village of Kleinaspach on his right, from where the Krummenbach flows into him and then reaches the western edge of the hamlet of Röhrach, where the Grasmultenbach flows in from the right .
After this rather small tributary, it bears the name Wüstenbach and now flows continuously towards the south until the mouth. It now runs east past the hamlets of Karlshof and Wüstenbachhof, between them the Diebsbrunnenbach flows from the west , then west at the Fürstenhof and then crosses over to the district of Kirchberg an der Murr . Here he passes a shell limestone quarry close to his left, leaves Zwingelhausen on the right and now reaches a wooded area again in a valley that is already quite deep, where the boundary of the city of Backnang moves to his left bank and sometimes even briefly crosses it. Here, halfway up the valley, steep slopes line the course of the river, and further up on the hilltop there are often sinkholes. The stream now briefly crosses over to the Burgstetten area and then flows after about 13 km of running, about one kilometer northeast of the first valley houses of Burgstetten, at about 221 m above sea level. NHN from the right into the lower Murr .
