Fritz Peuckert

Fritz Peuckert ( pseudonym Frederico and Der alten Fritz ; * December 6, 1922 ) is a German elementary and secondary school teacher and poet .

Life

Born shortly before the peak of German hyperinflation in 1922, Peuckert later often referred to himself as an inflation child. After attending school, he first completed an apprenticeship in order to serve first in the Reich Labor Service , then in the Wehrmacht , at the time of National Socialism . During the Second World War he was taken prisoner of war , but was released from captivity after the surrender in Courland in 1945.

In the post-war period , Peuckert initially retrained as a carpenter, but then switched to studying under the Allies , from which he emerged as a new teacher .

Peuckert taught as a teacher until 1982, but was given early retirement due to his war injury . He had previously published various writings, which he published according to his motto "educate people - despite everything".

In 1982, when he retired, Fritz Peuckert lived in Berlin at Leonberger Ring 33 .
