The Schulenburgsche Drömling is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony municipality of Parsau in the integrated municipality of Brome in the district of Gifhorn . The nature reserve is located in the sparsely populated lowland area of ​​the Drömling .

General

The nature reserve with the registration number NSG BR 159 is approximately 519  hectares . It is completely part of the FFH and EU bird protection area "Drömling". In the north it borders on the " Nördlicher Drömling " nature reserve , in the east on the " Kaiserwinkel " nature reserve , in the west on the " Giebelmoor " nature reserve and in the south on the " Ohre-Drömling " nature reserve in Saxony-Anhalt . The area replaces the conservation area "Kaiserwinkel". In addition, parts of the “Kaiserwinkel” nature reserve and the “Lütjes Moor” nature reserve have merged into it. The area has been under nature protection since March 1, 2019. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Gifhorn.

The nature reserve is located northeast of Wolfsburg on the edge of the Drömling. It is crossed by Kreisstraße 85.

The nature reserve is largely characterized by wet forests on fens . To the north are these primarily as alder and birch break forests with downy birch , silver birch , bog pine and Buckthorn trained. The forests have a high proportion of old and dead wood . Individual forest areas are used intensively. Coniferous trees or Christmas tree crops often falter here . These areas are to be converted into forest areas close to the location.

In the forests, species-rich, extensively used grasslands are embedded in moist to wet locations.

The southern area of ​​the nature reserve is characterized by numerous ditches from the period of amelioration ( Rimpau'sche moor dam culture ), which are often silted up or silted up. They are surrounded by rich bank vegetation. Furthermore, willow and other wet scrub, are sedge and bins Vineyard, reeds and moist Hochstaudenfluren formed.
