The Gagelstrauch population at Vorhop is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxon town of Wittingen in the Gifhorn district .

The nature reserve with the sign NSG BR 021 is 21.5  hectares in size. It is located southwest of Knesebeck and southeast of Schönewörde on the Elbe Lateral Canal . It places a predominantly pitted and partly cultivated remaining area of ​​a former raised bog under protection, in the western area of ​​which there is a large population of gale bushes on an unpeeled area of ​​the former bog. In the herb layer there is mainly blue pipe grass . South and east of a company included in the protected area, includes intensively used on fields were dug wet meadow and a majority of bog birch educated Moorwald with moor grass stands on.

The area drains via Kielhorster Graben and Riet to the Ise , a tributary of the Aller .

The area has been a nature reserve since June 2, 1980. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Gifhorn.
