Fritz Reichert-Facilides

Fritz Reichert-Facilides (born October 24, 1929 in Bremerhaven ; † October 23, 2003 ) was a German legal scholar .

Life

He studied law at the Universities of Hamburg and Tübingen . After completing his studies , he did his doctorate in 1956 at the University of Hamburg (Insurance Law Department) under Hans Fritz Heinrich Möller . This was followed by a postgraduate degree ( LL.M. program) at the University of Michigan .

In 1962 he joined the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law as a research fellow . Five years later he received his habilitation in civil and commercial law, insurance law as well as comparative law and international private law at the University of Hamburg (with Konrad Zweigert ). In 1970 he was appointed full professor of law at the University of Innsbruck , where he taught until he became professor emeritus in 1998 .
