Fritz Szczepecki

Fritz Szczepecki (born November 4, 1908 , † March 30, 1987 ) was a German politician ( SED ). From 1954 to 1959 he was State Secretary in the Ministry of Transport of the GDR .

Life

Szczepecki became a member of the Communist Party of Germany (KPD) in 1928 . After the Second World War he became a member of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany (SED) and worked for the Deutsche Reichsbahn (DR). He served from 1947 to 1954 as the official director of the Reichsbahnamt (Rba) Frankfurt (Oder) .

From November 1954 to 1959 he acted as State Secretary and First Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Transport of the GDR. He was replaced in this role by Heino Weiprecht and later retired early. Most recently he lived as a working-class veteran in Berlin-Lichtenberg . Szczepecki died at the age of 78 and was buried in the Berlin-Adlershof cemetery.
