Fritz Tempelmann

Fritz Tempelmann (born July 20, 1921 in Hoxfeld , Westphalia ; † August 7, 1991 in Speikern , Bavaria ) was a German riding master .

Fritz Tempelmann is considered one of the greatest trainers of dressage horses and riders. In addition to Nicole Uphoff and Ulla Salzgeber , Margit Otto-Crépin (France) and Daria Fantoni (Italy) as well as a large number of German professional riders went through his school . The training of numerous dressage horses, such as working with Rembrandt (Nicole Uphoff), Corlandus (Margit Otto-Crépin), Ideaal (Dr. Volker Moritz).

His focus was particularly on youth work. In 1977 his students from Essen achieved the team gold medal at the junior European dressage championship. In total, his students have won almost 50 medals at championships. His training style still shapes German equestrian sport today. In 1984 he was awarded the title of riding master by the FN .

Since 2007 the Fritz Tempelmann Special Honor Prize, donated by Roland Disterer - Tempelmann's son-in-law - has been awarded to the most harmonizing couple at the Grand Prix Spécial . This is based on both the harmony of the riding and the soulful influence in the square.
