Fritz William Michel (* 1980 in Port-au-Prince ) is a Haitian politician and was Prime Minister of Haiti from July 22, 2019 to March 2, 2020. After the largely unknown Michel was appointed Prime Minister by President Jovenel Moïse , two attempts to have him confirmed by the Haitian Parliament failed .

Political career

Between 2009 and 2011, in the first government under Moïse, he was chief accountant and cabinet director in the Ministry of Economy and Finance. He also sat in the cabinet of then Minister for Planning and Cooperation Jean Michel Lapin . In addition, as an authorized signatory, he was the administrative director of the Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development (MARDNR).
