The Froditzbach is a brook in the municipality of St. Veit in Defereggen ( Lienz district ). The stream rises southeast of the Hofspitze and flows into the Schwarzach between Bruggen and Feld .

course

The Froditzbach rises in the so-called "Froditzen", a valley head between the Gasser Hörndle in the south-west, Kastal and Hofspitze in the north-west, Scheibe and Mullitztörl in the north and the Gritzer Hörndle in the east. It is fed by several source streams, some of which arise as outflows from smaller mountain lakes such as the Gritz lakes . After the union of its source streams, the Frodnitzbach strives south, past the ruined Froditzalm to the west and reaches the tree line at around 1,800 meters above sea level. From here the Froditzbach flows through a forest gorge to the entrance to the Defereggental and falls down a waterfall in the lower reaches. In the Defereggental, the Froditzbach flows through agricultural areas between the districts of Bruggen and Feld and flows into the Schwarzach. Its banks in the lower reaches are accompanied by a narrow tree line.
