geography

The stream begins at Volksdorfer Damm in the Hamburg district of Bergstedt . It flows in a westerly direction and flows into the Saselbek dammed up there in the Hainesch / Iland nature reserve above the Alte Mühle . The Furtbek is thus a 4th order body of water. The brook name indicates a ford .

In the lower reaches the Furtbek line the steep edges, where kingfishers occasionally hunt.
