Gábor Reisz (2015)

Gábor Reisz (born January 19, 1980 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian film actor , director , screenwriter , cameraman and film composer .

Life

Born in 1980, Gábor Reisz studied film theory and film history at Budapest's Eötvös Loránd University from 2003 . From 2006 he studied film and television directing at the University of Theater and Film Art. During his studies he wrote and directed several short films. After completing his studies in 2011, he made his first own feature film, For Unbelievable Reasons , which premiered in July 2014 at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival . He also acted as a cameraman for the film and composed the score. Reisz was compared to Woody Allen for his tragic comedy, which also went to theaters in Germany .

His second independently produced feature film Falsche Poetry , which premiered at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in November 2018 , is in a shortlist for the European Film Awards 2019 .
