The Gänsebach is part of the Weser river system . It has a length of almost 7 km and rises northwest of the Syker district of Ristedt .

It flows exclusively in the district of Diepholz ( Lower Saxony ), through the village of Weyhe-Melchiorshausen and flows into Weyhe -Leeste in the Hombach , which is called Leester Mühlenbach from here on .

Right-hand tributaries are the Streitheidegraben (about 2.6 km long) and the Grenzgraben (almost 2 km long, tributary at Weyhe-Melchiorshausen).
