The Gårenevkalven (Norwegian for wave mountain calf ) is a 2250 m high nunatak in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . In the eastern Payer group of Hoelfjella it rises 5 km north of the Gårekneet ridge .
The first aerial photographs were taken during the German Antarctic Expedition (1938–1939) under the direction of Alfred Ritscher . Norwegian cartographers, who also made the name, mapped it on the basis of additional aerial photographs during the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956-1960).
