The Gårenevet ( Norwegian for wave mountain castle ) is a 2590 m high mountain in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . In the payer group of Hoelfjella it rises west of Gårenevet .
Aerial photos were taken during the German Antarctic Expedition in 1938/39 under the direction of polar explorer Alfred Ritscher . Norwegian cartographers, who also named it, mapped it on the basis of measurements made by the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960) and aerial photographs taken between 1958 and 1959. The namesake of the Russian name is not known.
