Gérald Messadié

Gérald Messadié (* 1931 in Cairo ; † July 5, 2018 in Paris ) was a French historian , science journalist and author of essays and novels .

Act

Messadié came to Paris at the age of 19. After studying Far Eastern languages ​​and history, he traveled extensively around the world.

At the age of 20 he wrote his first novel, which was published by Albert Camus in the former underground newspaper Combat . Numerous non-fiction books followed. His international breakthrough came with his novel A Man Called Jesus , published in 1989 . His portrayal of the history of the Gospels from a historical perspective sparked a wave of books on the life and ministry of Jesus .

Other historical novels followed, some of which also had a religious-historical basis.
