Gérard Wertheimer (* 1950 ) is a French entrepreneur .

Life

Wertheimer is the son of Jacques Wertheimer and Eliane Fischer. Together with his brother Alain Wertheimer , he holds a controlling majority in the French company Chanel . Wertheimer is married and lives in Geneva . In addition to various horse studs in France, he and his brother jointly own several wineries in France and California as well as an extensive collection of paintings. According to the US Forbes Magazine , Wertheimer is one of the richest French people with private assets of 12.7 billion US dollars (as of November 2017). Among the 300 richest in Switzerland, he was 5th in 2018 with an estimated fortune of 18 to 19 billion Swiss francs .
