Gérard de Rougemont

Gérard de Rougemont († between March 16 and June 5, 1225 in Bellevaux ) was Bishop of Lausanne from 1220 to 1221 and Archbishop of Besançon from 1221 to 1225 .

Life

Gérard was the son of Diebold, lord of Rougemont , and Alasia of Traves . In 1208 he was dean of the chapter of St. Stephen in Besançon . The cathedral chapter of Lausanne elected him bishop in 1220, and in 1221 he became archbishop of Besançon. When the citizenry took control of the city in 1224, he left the city.
