Borris York Brandt (born March 10, 1961 in Hamburg ) is a German author , television and multimedia producer .

Life

Borris Brandt is the son of actors Volker Brandt and Linde Fulda . He grew up in Berlin and trained as an advertising clerk . At the beginning of his career in 1985 he was branch manager at Govi Tonträger und Vertriebe GmbH . This was followed by employment at Teldec Schallplatten GmbH , AMPTown and from 1991 to 1995 as a budget director at Manfred Baumann's Economia advertising agency in Hamburg. There he was responsible for marketing Buena Vista Home Video, Jam FM and a number of apparel retailers.

In 1995 Brandt moved to 20th Century Fox as Marketing Director , which he left in 1996. From 1996 to 1998 he worked first at Studio Schleswig Holstein and then in a team with Timo Berndt as an author and developer for TV formats such as the TV film Das Finale . In 1998 he first took over in-house development and six months later became ProSieben's program director . There he brought out Stefan Raab's show TV total , among others . "I am certainly not the inventor of Raab, as so many in the industry claim," he said to the great amusement of those present on a podium during the Munich Media Days 2004, "but I was there and can officially announce that TV Total was invented in terms of content by Stefan Raab, Martin Keß and their colleague Jens Bujar. Brandt was also the first program director in the world to buy the Big Brother format . In 2000 he was dismissed by Georg Kofler's successor on the ProSieben board, Ludwig Bauer, who believed neither in reality as a genre nor in Big Brother as a format.

Brandt spent the year 2000 on the Senator Entertainment board, before taking over the management of Endemol Germany in 2001 and later the presidency of Endemol Germany Holding . There he brought Big Brother back to the screen, restructured the company, was responsible for numerous ambitious and commercially successful formats and became a member of all international creative and organizational bodies of the group. In 2008 Endemol separated after Ynon Kreiz had issued unattainable goals and made extensive private investments a condition of a contract extension.

Since 2009, Brandt has been the owner and managing director of ENTERTAINIA Unterhaltungsgesellschaft mbH in Cologne with television development and marketing experts . He runs the company together with his fourth wife, Kirsten Brandt.

From July to the end of 2010 Brandt had a media column for the entertainment magazine TVmatrix . Since June 20, 2011, he has hosted the talk show Brandt 20/20 on Radio Hamburg , and on September 1, 2011, he took over the management of AIDA Entertainment in Hamburg. The entire entertainment program for the cruises of the club ship fleet is created in the subsidiary of AIDA Cruises .

Since January 2019 he has been a school sponsor at the elementary and community school Sandesneben.
