history
The shaft was built in 1840 . The Moses shaft was one of several shafts at the United Arrival & Anclam colliery . The gin was always after the end of the promotion mined at the old shaft and, based on the new shaft, where it was also promoted. It is not known how many tons of hard coal were mined in the course of its existence.
The Göpelschacht was one of a number of small mines in the Muttental, which is commonly regarded as the cradle of Ruhr mining . At that time, its base was barely more than ten square meters, but it went 100 meters vertically into the depth. In 1847 the shaft was abandoned. The minable coals were exhausted. The Göpel was sold to the Gideon colliery .
At the end of the 1970s, the shaft building was reconstructed as part of the construction of the Muttental mining trail. It is one of the few places in the Ruhr area where the functioning of the Göpel funding can be clearly understood.
