Götschetal was the name of a short-lived community in the Saalekreis in Saxony-Anhalt .

It was created on July 1, 2006 from the merger of the communities of Wallwitz , Gutenberg , Nehlitz , Sennewitz and Teicha . The seat of the community was in Wallwitz. The community was a member and seat of the Götschetal-Petersberg administrative association , which was dissolved on January 1, 2010. On the same day, all member congregations united to form the Petersberg unified congregation .

In Götschetal there lived 5632 inhabitants (December 31, 2008) on an area of ​​32.94 km². The mayor of Götschetal was Ulli Leipnitz.

The municipality name was derived from the Götsche creek , which flows into the Saale after flowing through the municipality at the city limits of Halle .
