The Göttelbach is a right tributary of the Schiltach in the central Black Forest .

It rises in the formerly independent mountain suburb of Sulgen and flows into the Schiltach in the valley town of Schramberg south of Bissing Castle. On its 4.5 km long course, the Göttelbach has a gradient of about 400 meters.

River history

One of the first power stations in Central Europe was located on the course of the Göttelbach. In 1892, electricity was already being produced in the Bissingisch-Gräflichen Mühle am Göttelbach in Schramberg.
