Guler Sabancı (born August 14, 1955 in Adana ) is a Turkish entrepreneur. She is the chairman of Sabancı Holding , the second largest industrial and financial group in Turkey. Sabancı Holding was founded by her uncle Sakıp Sabancı . She has been a member of the Supervisory Board of Siemens AG since January 23, 2013 .

Life

After attending the renowned TED Ankara high school , İhsan and Yüksel Sabancı's daughter studied business administration at the Bosporus University in Istanbul . In 1978 she began her career at the family-owned tire company in the province of Kocaeli . She then worked for the Kordsa fiber factory for 14 years before becoming a member of the board of Sabancı Holding. After the death of her uncle Sakıp, his brothers Erol and Şevket , who were still alive, made her - at the request of Sakıp Sabancı - chairmen of the group.

In the list of 100 most powerful women in the world of Forbes Magazine , it was conducted in 2009 ranked 27th According to the magazine, this makes her the most powerful woman in Turkey.
