Günter Berti

Günter Berti (born July 31, 1955 ) is a former German soccer player . He played 186 games in the 2nd Bundesliga and scored four goals. Later he was a board member of SSV Ulm in 1846 .

career

Berti played for SSV Ulm 1846 throughout his career . With the club he reached the final in the WFV Cup against TV Unterboihingen in 1976 . In the 118th minute of the game, Berti scored the 1-1 equalizer, which saved the favored team from penalties , which was lost 3-2. In 1979 he was more successful with the team and was able to celebrate promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga South. There he was used in 35 games in each of the following two seasons, in the 5-0 home win over FSV Frankfurt on March 13, 1981, he scored his first goal in professional football with the goal to make it 4-0 in the 54th minute . At the end of the season, despite an excellent fifth place, the sparrows had to go back to the third division due to the merging of the two second division seasons.

In 1982 and 1983 SSV Ulm was able to win the WFV Cup in 1846, and Berti scored another goal in the 1983 final. In the same year, the team was able to manage the return to professional football. Berti was a regular there again and also played 35 games in his third year as a professional. In 1985 the Ulm team had to relegate again, but this time they were promoted again immediately in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg in 1986 . Until 1988, Berti played for SSV 1846 in the second division against the ball.

In the 1990s Berti was a member of the board of the SSV Ulm 1846. After the club had financially taken over at the end of the decade after promotion to the Bundesliga and the subsequent crash from second class and had to file for bankruptcy, it was controversial among club members and was not confirmed in office in the 2002 board elections.
