Günter Eichel

Günter Eichel (born December 15, 1921 in Wilhelmshaven ; † after 1987) was a German writer , publicist and translator .

Career

Eichel became known to a wider public in the early 1960s with the translation of Ian Fleming's James Bond novels such as Live and Let Die and Casino Royale (1961). He has also translated works by Eric Ambler , Agatha Christie ( The Strange Mister Quin ), Nina Bawden , Ben Lucien Burman , William Fryer Harvey , Ross Macdonald ( Sleeping Beauty Was a Beautiful Child , 1975), Patrick Quentin , Victor S from English and American Pritchett , Saki, and PG Wodehouse ; He also worked as a journalist and non-fiction author from the 1950s.
