Günter Frankenberg

Günter Frankenberg (born June 19, 1945 in Karlshafen ) is a German legal scholar .

Life

In 1969 Günter Frankenberg obtained a BA in Government and Legal Studies from Bowdoin College in Brunswick ( Maine ), USA . Two doctorates followed the state examinations in 1972 and 1974 in Munich: 1978 at the Institute for Social Sciences at the Technical University of Munich and 1981 at the Faculty of Law at the University of Bremen .

From 1978 to 1984 he was a research associate at the Max Planck Institute for research into the living conditions of the technical-scientific world in Starnberg. A professorship for public law and social law at what was then the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences immediately followed. Since 1993 Frankenberg has been Professor of Public Law, Legal Philosophy and Comparative Law at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main .

Günter Frankenberg is co-editor of the journal Kritische Justiz and author of specialist and non-fiction books. He is particularly interested in constitutional law, also in international comparison, as well as migration law or, more generally, the phenomenon of the alien in different legal cultures.
