Günter Gabsteiger (born December 23, 1942 in Nuremberg ) is a German politician and former member of the CSU state parliament .

Life

After completing elementary school and vocational school and training as a steel mold maker, he completed studies in social pedagogy in Munich and Berlin . From 1966 to 1967 he worked in the Bundeswehr in the Air Force Group South. Afterwards Gabsteiger was a church youth worker in the Archdiocese of Bamberg until 1973 . From 1973 to 1986 he was a full-time probation officer at the Nuremberg-Fürth Regional Court.

He is married and has a daughter.

Political career

In 1966 he was district chairman of the JU Berlin-Tiergarten in the Junge Union , and from 1970 to 1975 district chairman of the JU Fürth-Land . In 1972 he was elected to the district assembly of Fürth, 1974 to the district assembly of Middle Franconia (until 1986) and finally in 1986 to the Bavarian state assembly . There Gabsteiger was a member of the State Budget and Financial Affairs Committee . In the state elections of 2008 he missed the re-entry due to the high loss of votes of the CSU.

In addition, he holds some chairmanship of associations in Nuremberg and the surrounding area.

Gabsteiger was involved in the affair with the employment of relatives ( amigo affair ). At the same time he was a member of the State Budget and Financial Affairs Committee.
