Günter Guben (actually Günther Hoffmann-Guben ; * 1938 in Guben ) is a German writer, musician, painter and photographer.

Guben was born in Guben in Lusatia in 1938. The family moved to Hamburg in 1943 . Guben studied photography, film and television technology and art history and worked as a director and editor in the cultural sector of the SDR / SWR .

In the 1970s, Guben founded Edition Appa Appa in Esslingen am Neckar , where not only books but also sound carriers were released ( Zero-Production Appa Appa ).

From 2003 to 2010 Guben was director and chairman of the Association of the Stuttgart Writers' House . He lives in Esslingen am Neckar.
