Günter Kärner

Günter Kärner (* 1933 in Greiz / Thuringia) is a German church musician and composer.

Life

Kärner studied church music in Halle / Saale . He passed his A-exam in 1957. In 1964 he passed the final examination for composition at the Cologne University of Music . Since 1967 he has taught composition at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf . He worked as a cantor in Burscheid / Rhineland . He composed the melody for the hymn The Savior came to his baptism ( EKG 153) as well as an alternative melody to Rudolf Alexander Schröder's It may be that everything falls (EKG Rheinland-Westfalen-Lippe 532, EG 378).
