Günter "Kutte" Kutowski (born August 2, 1965 in Paderborn ) is a former German football player .
Career
The strong defensive player Günter Kutowski came to Borussia Dortmund in 1984 via SV Sande and 1. FC Paderborn .
The greatest success of his career was the victory in the 1989 DFB Cup on June 24, 1989 in Berlin against Werder Bremen . Kutowski was a regular player this season and his team won 4-1.
In the 1994/95 and 1995/96 seasons, when Dortmund became German champions twice, Günter Kutowski was only used sporadically. In the newly formed star ensemble of coach Ottmar Hitzfeld , players like Júlio César or Jürgen Kohler overtook him and Kutowski was only a substitute player with eleven league appearances. Kutowski was under contract in Dortmund until 1996 and received 53 yellow cards and one red card in 288 Bundesliga appearances . He scored three goals in those twelve years.
Afterwards, Kutowski switched back to 1. FC Paderborn, where he already played in his youth and which in the meantime had merged with TuS Schloß Neuhaus to form TuS Paderborn-Neuhaus . Due to the club's financial difficulties, however, he switched to Rot-Weiss Essen in the 2nd Bundesliga on loan for six months during the winter break in 1996/1997 . He came on seven missions there.
He then returned to TuS Paderborn-Neuhaus, which had since been renamed SC Paderborn 07 . There he came to 112 games (5 goals) between 1997 and 2001, most of them in the then Regionalliga West / Südwest , which was the third highest division at the time. Actually, Kutowski was ready to end his career in the summer of 2000, but since he was surprisingly relegated to the Oberliga Westfalen with SC Paderborn at the end of the 1999/2000 season , he also completed the following season. In this last season he succeeded with Paderborn by winning the championship of the Oberliga West, the immediate return to the regional league.
Since the end of his active career as a footballer, Kutowski has been working as a players agent. He plays in the traditional Borussia Dortmund team.
