Günter Reh

Günter Reh (born December 9, 1928 ) is a former German goalkeeper who was active in the 1950s for Lokomotive Stendal in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football .

Athletic career

At the age of 21, Günter Reh was included in the senior division team of the company sports community (BSG) Lokomotive Stendal for the 1950/51 season and was initially intended as the second goalkeeper behind Heinz zur Hose . Reh was only called up sporadically up to the 24th matchday and only made nine appearances. Only then did he regularly score, so that he finally came to 19 league games in 1950/51, while the pants only scored 15 times in total. In the following two seasons, Reh was the undisputed first goalkeeper in Stendal and was missing in only eleven games from 68 point games. In the second half of the 1953/54 season, Reh was injured for a long time and was only used 16 times in 28 point games. At the end of the season Lok Stendal was known as a relegated league. Only a year later, the locomotive team managed to return to the league, with Reh this time playing all 26 GDR league games . He kept his regular place in the league season 1956 (change to the calendar year game rhythm) with 20 inserts in 26 point games. After the 18th matchday of the 1957 season, Reh injured himself again and could only be called up 15 times. At the end of the season, Stendal had to relegate again. In the game year 1958 Reh could only complete the first three point games in the GDR league and then ended his career as a football player. He then became the trainer for the BSG Stahl soccer team in Tangerhütte in the fifth class district class.
